What a great weekend we had to end the show season. Cristi and Charlie won 2nd (out of 7) in Hunter In Hand Class. I took 3rd in Western Pleasure (out of 10 entrants) and beat Michelle the trainer. She owes me 10 bucks!!! Also took two 4th place finishes in Western Directed and Colored Western Pleasure. Competition was stiff with some well seasoned riders but Charlie came through with flying colors. The judge remarked to Cristi what a wonderful horse Charlie would be for English Classes. Charlie heard that and crapped in the arena.
Charlie is just a fantastic horse and I love him like a brother. He really can do it all....We have sorted cows, hearded the sheep, been in shows (placed 2nd in a Western Pleasure class in Washington), and have a ball on the trails. His personality is PERFECT for me...steals carrots out of my pocket, etc..and is a real ham for the camera. We took a set of professional equine photos and will send you some once we have made our selection. I have attached a recent shot of Charlie with Cristi taken in the round pen...It pretty much shows how he has adapted to life in Oregon!!! Best Regards, Rick Bend, Oregon |
